I'm excited about teaching my lesson plans, but the teacher seems so busy. When I get her attention and trying to make some type of plans, she makes it seems like I'm bothersome. I'm starting to wonder why this teacher even volunteered to work with practicum students. She doesn't include or invite me to help with lessons. She tells me to do whatever I want to do, she doesn't care. I try to jump in when the kids have questions, but there is nothing to help teach because she just gives them packet work and has them do it by themselves. Does anyone have any suggestions or opinions about the situation?

Hey girl, hang in there. Whether you believe it or not, this is a good experience. You can reflect often on the teacher's lessons on what you would do to make them better. Just remember you are there for the students. Maybe you can talk to your Practicum teacher about how you feel. If not, ask your Practicum teacher if you could take one or two students that are having trouble doing there work out in the hall to work one-on-one with them. Let me know how it goes and what you decide to do.
